Westfalia Children's Project Peru

Organized by Sponsoring Westfalia Orphanage

School Uniforms..Water Purification project completed.
I am happy to say that we have completed Stage 1 of the water purification project and that there is now a central faucet that provides perfectly pure drinking water to supply all of their needs, as well as use for washing fruits and vegetables and cooking.

Now, we have a new objective. Many of the children lack the required school uniforms. The cost to provide uniforms for all of those in need is $10,000. The orphanage has a mere $1,400 to work with. We hope to secure enough donations to ensure that no child misses out on their education, or suffers embarrassment because they lack the required uniform. We hope that you will help.
New stove needed.
It seems a never-ending opportunity to find something new in the way of necessities for the orphanage. The main kitchen, where all meals are cooked, is somewhat of a mess, to be honest. The floor has recently been tiled, but the counter needs attention and there are no cupboards of any sort. But the first priority is a stove.
Some of the burners do not function and it is very inefficient in terms of propane use. Propane is very costly and they need to save money wherever possible. I also consider it unsafe and worry about the possibility of a gas leak. Replacing it with something new and not quite as large (they do not need anything that takes up that much space) and that has an oven, would be a welcome situation. Cooking for more than 90 people is not an easy task in any situation, but with something as old and unsafe as this is, it becomes something worse. It is anticipated that we need approximately $1,200 to provide something appropriate.
